1,25,000 of 1,75,000 temporary workers are offered full-time jobs. The offer is for the employees who are likely to stay at Amazon for a long period of time.
The company also stated the remaining 50,000 employees can choose to stay at Amazon in part-time or seasonal roles or return to their previous job.
As the company pays a minimum of $15 per hour to its masses of the workforce.
The monster of eCommerce announced the hiring of 1,75,000 roles in March covering all the departments of its operations network to help the communities by keeping many people working amid the pandemic coronavirus crisis
Amazon stated in a statement on Thursday, “Similar to the other companies, we also hired for part-time roles to meet the demand and many of the people was hoping to get back to their previous companies once the reopening of the state began”.
“It has been more clear about the long term picture as we’re giving opportunities for 1,25,000 employees of a temporary category to transition into a full-time role from the starting of June, the eCommerce giant added.
Few choose to stay at Amazon for part-time or seasonal roles and few choose to return to their previous jobs.
Earlier, Amazon also announced to invest $4 billion for the safety of their workers.
