57-Year-Old Covid Patient From Chennai Commits Suicide

On Tuesday 20th April 2021, Mr. Rangan a 57-year-old man from Hastinapuram in Chromepet committed suicide at a private hospital in Kelambakkam. He was admitted because he was experiencing symptoms of being affected by Coronavirus.

On April 16, he was tested positive for Covid-19, he was then admitted to this private hospital in Kelambakkam. He was said to be depressed as he was not able to see any of his family members, he had not spoken to anyone for the past two days even the doctors and hospital staff.

On Monday night he hanged himself from the hook in the room he was being treated in, this was identified by the staff on Tuesday morning and they informed the Kelambakkam police. The police after arriving sent the body to post-mortem examination to Chengalpattu government hospital and registered a case.
