This news proves that humanity is still alive in human hearts. We’re all compassionate towards the birds and animals. In fact, some people have installed bird feeders and tray feeders along with water stations for the birds in our balconies.
Recently, people of the Sivagangai district in Madurai, Tamil Nadu have set a good example for mankind. According to TOI, A student named Karuppuraja in Pothakudi village of Sivagangai district had seen an Indian Robin building its nest across the village switchboard which gave power to the Streetlights.

He stated that when the lockdown began, he noticed the filling of the box with straws and sticks and leaves. When he peeped into the box, he saw the 3 greenish-blue eggs with spots. Since then he had been protecting the bird’s nest.
On a WhatsApp group, he shared the story of the birds. Along with his friends, he decided to help the birds hatch their eggs in peace. At this point, he had to confront the villagers and convince them to live in the dark until the bird’s egg hatches out. Some of them agreed while some of them mocked for switching off the lights for a small little bird. However, Karuppuraja convinced and managed the villagers.
Now, The entire village has gone without streetlights for 35 days continuously. They used their flashlights or mobile flashes in the dark. Karuppuraja concluded by saying that he will restore the lights, once the birds leave the nest.
Well, these stories are touching and heartwarming. Thanks to the people of Pothakudi village and Karuppuraja for encouraging everyone to do something for humanity.
