Ayurvedic Giant, Patanjali To Title Sponsorship For IPL 2020?

The title sponsorship is a significant part of the IPL’s commercial revenue, half of which is shared equally by the franchises. A spokesperson from Patanjali told that the brand is yet to take a call but is considering Bid the IPL Title Sponsorship.

Earlier Vivo which had won its rights for five years from 2018 to 2022 for a reported sum of Rs 2,190 crore. However, the BCCI and Vivo have now decided to suspend their partnership for the IPL 2020 sponsorship, after the Chinese ban in India.

And now the talks are that Baba Ramdev’s Patanjali Ayurvedic which has an estimated turnover of around Rs 10,500 crore is now being in “consideration” for making a bid for the title sponsorship of the upcoming Indian Premier League. So that Patanjali would get global recognition, the spokesperson Tijarawala from Patanjali said.

Companies like jio, Amazon, Tata group, Dream11 and Byju’s are also in contention for the IPL 2020 sponsorship. The 13th edition of IPL will be scheduled from September 19, 2020 in the UAE because of the pandemic Coronavirus.

Patanjali Ayurved had reported a revenue of Rs 8,329 crore in FY 2018-19. However, the group’s overall turnover was much higher.
