The very next day after a man ran away with more than 8,00,000/- INR from private ATM, faked spraying disinfectant character in Maduravoyal, Chennai. The police identify that he was the old staff of the bank and also recovered 8,62,000/- INR from the thief.
The man was recognized as D Sivanandhan of 39 years old who lives in West Mambalam. As he was the ex-employee of the Maduravoyal branch three years back before he was transferred to the Ambattur branch. His wife is also a government staff in the Home department who is now appointed as Secretariat.
After having an investigation, It was stated from the officials that Sivanandhan plundered the ATM to settle his house loan which he got to build a house in Thoothukudi, his hometown. Sivanandhan easily looted the ATM as the branch didn’t change the ATM chest password.
The incident occurred around at mid-day 12:30 pm on Sunday. As the accused reaches the spot in an autorickshaw wearing mask stated security guard and he gets into the ATM by stating to spray disinfectant. After few minutes, another man entered the ATM booth found the man taking the cash from the ATM Chest but didn’t react as he taught that the person is the bank employee and get suspected when the accused left the spot in a hurry burry in the same autorickshaw and informed earlier the security guard about the incident.
The guard contacted Rajkumar, the bank manager immediately as he rushes to the spot and found more than 8,00,000/- INR was missing from the ATM. The complaint was registered in Maduravoyal police station and captured the suspect within a day. It has been stated bu the officials that Sivanandhan would soon be sent to judicial custody.
