Amid the Covid-19 surge during the second wave, the nation had split opinions on whether the IPL 2021 should be conducted or not. However, the players and audience followed strict protocols to avoid the spread of infection. Recently, the match between KKR and RCB was postponed as Varun Chakravarthi and Sandeep Warrier belonging to Kolkata Knight Riders tested Positive for Coronavirus.
As the players have been isolating and are under constant medical assistance, the Covid-19 scare continues to loom over the other IPL teams. As per the reports three members of CSK: executive officer Kasi Viswanath, bowling coach Laxmipathy Balaji and a bus cleaner have tested positive.
The reports have been termed as “false positives,” by the PTI agency as the test reports showed positive on Sunday and negative on Monday. A senior CSK official said the team has undergone a test again and nothing can be said certainly until the test results are received.
The organizers of IPL are taking every possible measure to ensure the safety of the players.
