Since last October, 300 MBBS seats have been allotted for pupils of government institutions under the 7.5% reservation. This made more than 25,000 students of government and government aided schools register for free coaching for the first time. However, the number of active participants fell below 3000 due to issues like lockdown, language barriers, and so on.
The coaching was suspended in march to provide students with time to prepare for their board exams. As the exams have now been postponed officials are now planning to resume the e-NEET classes from next week, the district officials have been asked to contact the non-active participants to inquire the reason for not continuing the classes and solving the said issues.
The free coaching in e-platforms began in November 2020 for the exams to be conducted in August 2021. The government has established more than 400 NEET training centers to provide medical aspirants with physical training classes as soon as the pandemic situation returns to normal.
