T20 Men’s World Cup is scheduled this year October. Due to COVID-19, the Boards are planning for other options for better safety.
The meeting was scheduled by ICC Board on May 28 to discuss a better solution for the events and the conditions of the game which also includes applying saliva on the ball as it has now ignited the chances of the spread of novel COVID-19.
The ICC’s Board is looking forward to declaring multiple options. “We are looking forward to at least three options from the ICC Events Board.
Option 1: As per the schedule, having 14 days quarantine with a T20.
Option 2: Match to be played in an empty stadium.
Option 3: Shifting the tournament to 2022.
These are the three options stated by the ICC Board Member on the condition of anonymity.
All the expectations and doubts of the T20 World Cup will come to an end after the Meeting on May 28. Though, the discussion will also be reviewed by the ICC’s CHairman, Shashank Manohar.
“Even ICC will face the cash flow hold up but it’s a limited period problem. The parent body will not lose anything if the tournament organized in 2022 as its adjournment is not a postponement.”
