Former Indian opener Gautam Gambhir, Opens up about Ms. Dhoni, says Dhoni should keep representing India if he feels fit.
After the debate of Dhoni regarding retirement, Gambir comes in the support of Dhoni.
In an interview with star sports, Gambir stated that Age is just a number, If Dhoni feels like enjoying the game and hitting the ball, then he should keep continuing the game and if he’s in a good form, he can still win the game for the country at number six and seven, he was also quoted saying that, “It’s an individual decision to retire since it was an individual decision to play cricket! And no one can force anyone to retire”, he said.
Former Indian skipper, MS Dhoni has not featured in any competitive cricket since India’s exit from the 2019 ICC World Cup. And it’s still uncertain and unanswered if he’ll return back to play the international cricket.
Earlier this year, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) removed the 39-year-old Dhoni from a list of centrally contracted players. However, Dhoni served the Indian army for 2 weeks as a part of his prolonged sabbatical.
3th edition of IPL awaits for Dhoni’s return to the field. He was seen practicing sessions for IPL during March but with the pandemic, the IPL tournament was postponed. Meanwhile, The 13th edition of IPL will take place in UAE from September 19 to November 8, where we’ll get to see Thala Dhoni (referred by fans) play for CSK.
By concluding the interview Gambhir, also asserted that Dhoni shouldn’t pay heed to opinions regarding his retirement. He should keep focusing on the game.
