Number Of Cases:
On Sunday, 10,723 cases were recorded in Tamil Nadu. 9,91,451 active cases have been reported in the state. If the cases keep spiking at this rate the state’s expected to touch a million infections soon. Currently, the cities affected with maximum cases are as follows:
- Chennai: cases recorded on Sunday- 3,304; total cases – 2,83,436
- Coimbatore: cases recorded on Sunday- 727; total cases – 67,394
- Chengalpattu: cases recorded on Sunday- 954; total cases – 66,440
The Deaths reported on Sunday were 42 which includes 5 patients with no Major Symptoms. 16 people from Chennai, 6 from Chengalpattu, and a 48-years old man from Kancheepuram were taken away by the deadly Covid resulting in a total number of 13,113 deaths.
Vaccine & Politics:
The public of the state is experiencing a shortage of Vaccines!
People have been returning from Government Hospitals without being vaccinated to which the chief of DMK Mr. Mk Stalin spoke up stating that the state government demands 20 lakh shots of Covaxin and Covishield from Gol to fulfill the state’s requirements. He also demanded the PM to intervene immediately and direct the concerned ministry for the supplication of vaccines as requested by the State Government.
A Tele counseling centre was inaugurated by the Greater Chennai Corporation in the premises of the Ripon Building on Sunday to provide counseling for Covid-19 patients. This was announced in a tweet by them referring to as “Dear Chennaites”.
