All you need to know about Tada Falls

Located 90kms from Chennai. Sounds too far? But it’s just 2hours from the city.
Also known as Ubbalamadugu Falls. This falls is located in Varadaiahpalem Mandal of Chittoor district and is on the border of Tamilnadu and Andhra Pradesh.

This fall is best known for its clear water surrounded by dense forest in a rocky hill area
How to reach?
Tada falls is well connected via trains and buses.
Buses are available from Koyambedu bus stand till Varadaiahpalem. Autos are available to travel from Varadaiahpalem to Tada falls.

But if you want to make it a road trip, then cross the Padi junction and take the Red Hills route to join NH- 5
It takes 20kms from the Tada to reach the base camp. There are 3 base camps. Once you reach the base camp, you can park your vehicles. Travellers should move further on foot to cover the rest of the distance till the falls.
The first half of the trail is easy and beautiful where you can enjoy small streams to soak your feet in. There’s a Shiva temple to explore too. One can also fill your water bottles from the running streams in case if you are running out of water.
After you reach the second base camp, you will hit the rocky patches. The total trek takes about 10kms with 4kms in the real rocky condition in order to reach the breathtaking view of the waterfalls.
When to visit?
Best time to visit Tada falls is better August – January
Tada falls is a rewarding experience for those who are fit for trekking and rock climbing. Better not to take any elders or kids
Visiting hours – 8am – 4pm
Keep water bottles, glucose supplements as the hike gets tiring. Make sure you return back when there is sunlight. The waterfalls are in the mid of the jungle and it gets dark around 5 pm.
