As we head to the end of the year 2020, The 2021 elections in Tamil Nadu, are round the corner and speculations for the chief ministerial candidate has already begun.
The Minister of Milk and Diary KT Rajenthra Balaji, who is known to express his candid views and stirring debates, has now proposed Edappadi K Palaniswami as the chief ministerial candidate of AIADMK in the upcoming elections 2021. The ALADMK has already been under a dual leadership, since the death of the former CM J Jayalalithaa.
When the news broke, Minister of fisheries, Jayakumar addressed the media, that as far as the AIADMK party is concerned, the decision should be made along with the help of other party members, adding further, he also replied to the comments made by Balaji, that Minister Bhalaji has just proposed his opinion as an individual, but the opinion of the AIADMK party only matters and all the party ministers will meet and decide to choose the CM candidate, he said.
The Minister for cooperation, Sellur Raja also responded to Bhalaji’s statement, he said that whoever the AIADMK party elects as the legislative member, that leader will eventually be the candidate for the CM and there’s no counter view on this.
KT Rajenthra Bhalaji also praised Edappadi K Palaniswami, that he had earned goodwill and great leadership to the party, leading the party to victory in the assembly elections. “Let’s face the election by projecting Edappadi as a chief ministerial candidate, let’s win and 2021 will belong to AIADMK”, he wrote.
When asked about his views on the dual leadership of the party, he said that the party may have dual leadership. But the government should have only a single leadership and that would be Edappadiyar (Edappadi K Palaniswami).
However, Balaji said that he just shared his good views on the auspicious day of Krishna Jayanti. But the back-to-back statements from the other ministers have stirred a debate over the Chief Minister candidate for the AIADMK even as the elections are several months away.
Meanwhile, BJP has the right to head an alliance in the state, said the Vice president of Tamil Nadu and BJP VP Duraiswami.
